"Cephalopodd" - My original short story series.
This is just an area where I'll be posting the characters and their bios. Thank you for taking a gander!
This is a small comic/short story series I had made about a cecealia who feels like an outcast in society. She doesn't want to fit in, trying to just be herself with her small bunch of friends, in a society filled with labels and stereotypes.
I
created her to be a shining light, showing the power of oddballs,
displaying that sensitive and awkward people can truly make a
difference. As can Christians.

Lukie and Eila Lasherton, the cyclops sibliings (sibclops)

Two young, easy-going cyclops. Albeit young, they do strive to be supportive and encouraging.

A cheerful and enthusiastic mermaid. While content, she is yearning to know what it's like to walk on land.

A scientist and cryptozoologist seeking to better the lives of those less fortunate, using his inventive skill. Though human, he has invented specialized vitamins that can temporarily alter his form . .

Origin of concept: (human form) Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein", assuming this is where the archetype of scientists sporting grey hair and white lab coats began. (alternate form) Greek mythology.
"Oscar" can mean "deer lover/friend of the deer", "God spear/divine spear", or "champion warrior". "Zerve" can mean "save", "preserve"," conserve", "maintain intact", "to keep", "guard", "observe", "respect."

Esther A. Periwinkle, the strabismic lamia

A quiet and soft-spoken lamia with a gaze that portrays a sense of past travail. Her condition while not uncommon, has an uncommon culprit . . somehow tied to her mother.

Georgeanne (Georgie) Gerle, the ghost
An adventurous little spirit who longs for company, a reflection, and answers to her condition. Though what she lacks sometimes brings her sorrow, she can easily distract herself with the ability to fly amidst earth's wonders.

"Georgeanne" and "Georgie" are of Greek origin and mean "earth-worker" or "worker of the earth", while "Gerle" is of Germanic origin and means "farmer".
Yes, the name is a reference to both the song; "Georgy Girl" by "The Seekers", as well as the book series; "Georgie the Ghost" by "Robert Bright". This overall design is actually not mine, and is based on a Hallmark Halloween card that I'm trying to find. The inside of the card read: "Have a good one sweetie!"

An uplifting little lady, always lending advice and providing for those who need support. Though she appears to be a genie, not all cosmic entities are what they seem . . . she is a true shape-shifter after all.

Alec Ned, the drider
A drider who - like Tangie, is a nonconformist who refuses to follow
society's normalization. While Tangie is designed for correcting errors
in cultural behavior, Alec is designed for correcting errors in
humanity's systematic networks. He spends most of his time writing his
ideas, and enjoying the serenity of his surroundings.

A curious and insightful trail-blazer. Or . . trail-secreter? Her ability to see matters from various angles, as well as act as a gastropod-interpreter is greatly valued amongst her friends.

Origin of concept: 1984 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics.
"Jackie" originates from English, Hebrew and French and means "God is gracious", "Yahwey is gracious", "holder of the heel", and "supplanter". "Flapjack" originated in England, and means "to flip something smaller than normal". In the twentieth century it was also uses to refer to a "compact case for face powder".

A congenial wolf snail that contradicts his species natural predatory behavior. Upon realizing there are other dietary substitutes, he felt it was not imperative to follow the crowd. Being a fast undulater, he enjoys going on long "walks". Though without caffeine - he's still not quite as quick as a slug . .

Rio, the Spanish Dancer

A motherly Spanish Dancer who has a mysterious and unsolved history with Tangie. Naturally hailing from the sea, she usually only visits her familiars on special occasions.

Yes, her name is a reference to the song "Rio" by "Duran Duran".

The whole series was just a fun experiment for me, so the pilot may seem very random. My skill working in digital art has improved, but because that was not the case working early on - expect them to look very . . well, less refined than what you see here. Plus, a character's design refines overtime. Truth be told, it doesn't start to look good until the fourth entry.
